She leaned a little closer , straining her ears. In case she could just hear a little more.

But suddenly Her breath hitched the moment a strong hand clasped over her mouth, muffling the scream that had almost escaped her throat. Before she could even react, her back was pressed firmly against the cold stone wall of the corridor. Her heart hammered wildly in her chest, each beat echoing in her ears louder than the hushed voices she had been eavesdropping on just moments ago.
